- hey, have you heard about the new villain in town? It's causing short term health effects such as runny nose, coughing, sneezing, and shortness of breath. 
- Yes!, I heard people calling it particulate matter. It's made up of hazardous atmospheric particles that can be solid or liquid. 
- How prevalent is particulate matter and can it be detrimental to our health long term?
- Well, it is most prevalent in warm, dry climate areas. This is because there are many power plants and various storms in those places. In addition, it can worsen asthma and other medical conditions causing possible lunch damage. 
- Particulate matter has also been depleting nutrients in our soil which damages our forests and changes the chemical make up of plants affecting the growth and diversity of the ecosystem. 
- omg!! look, there it is now. We need to put on masks immediately! 
- hopefully the EPA will come and give us masks, the Environmental protection agency helps set rules to regulate PM! 
- have no fear, the EPA is here!
- Thanks for the masks EPA, now we are able to stay safe from the particulate matter 
- Now continue one and help reduce this toxic pollutant. Hopefully we will never have to deal with it again!
