Hello everybody and welcome back to the show. Today we have a young teenagers that since her youthful ages has been a victim of domestic violence. Would you mind telling us about you experience?
Yes of course Michael. After I was born, my dad lost his job and my brother could barely afford to pay for the family. My mom suggested to go work, and they lost it, there was hitting, screaming, begging, it was terrible. Once I started to grow up and go to school, I was a really smart kid, my brother notice that I would hide my grades, he pulled me by my hair to my dad telling him to pull me out of school.
I'm guessing no one called the police or CPS?
No because you see Michael, all my other friends on the block were going through the same thing, and if we tried to say something, no one would believe us because we were a bunch of 8 year old's. But unfortunately, after a few months from dropping out of school, my mother died of a heart attack. At this point, both of them would make me do all the chores and house errands.
Well, me and my friends got fed up and decided to take this to the police. They were taken to court, and our houses were investigated. They were all sent to prison for 20 years with no chance of early parole. Now I live with all of my friends in our apartment close from here. We all have different jobs and are providing ourselves with the well needed amount of money to pay for college and for living in general.
What happened next? How did you escape?
