- I need to be able to hunt!!
- Ugh I can't get this to stand up!
- Look at the other boys just playing around and not doing anything to help.
- Jack's behavior starts to change. He gets obsessed with wanting to hunt and kill the pig. He is leaning towards the savagery side and getting more violent.
- I want to hunt!
- I want to build a shelter!
- Ralph gets irritated because the hut he is building keeps falling down before they complete it. He gets frustrated because he knows that building a shelter is essential to their survival.
- Ralph, Simon, and Jack are the only ones who are contributing to surviving on the island. The other boys get lazy and start playing around instead of helping out for a better chance at surviving.
- Jack and Ralph start lacking communication because they each have different thoughts. Jack wants to focus on hunting while Ralph wants to build a shelter.
- As Simon is walking through the forest with the littluns, he sees that they are struggling to reach the fruit from the trees and goes to help them.
- Simon wanders through the jungle alone and finds a beautiful open space full of flowers, birds, and butterflies. He sits down to take in the scene and appreciate the beauty of life that surrounds him.
