- The first major step to freedom for african americans was the Emancipation proclamation issued by Abraham lincoln. In American laws are allowed to be changed and rights can be claimed. Although people at the time of this new scene didn't agree with the freedom of slaves, it was the beginning of the real fight for rights.
- Brown vs. Board of Education
- A speech written by Fredrick douglass addressing how the founding fathers made a great country and that freedom of everyone is a great idea. Because of the idea of freedom in the country, Douglass saw the hypocrisy in this because not all men were allowed freedom because of their skin color.
- Social dilemma
- In President Lincoln's speech he promised that of freedom of states. He wanted the country to have real freedom, to not be run by his government. At this time some states banned slavery and some didn't, leaving slavery where it was present.
- A true stepping stone in the african american children's fight for non discriminatory schooling. In a earlier supreme court date popularly known around the country ¨Plessy vs. Ferguson¨ they ruled that in our country blacks and whites are ¨separate but equal. ¨ Brown vs Board changed this narrative by showing that separating kids because of their skin color is unconstitutional.
- The social dilemma showed that with technology companies can control the things that you look at on a daily basis. Nowadays people dont even realize it but the more time we spend on our phones the more ideas and pointless things get processed by our brain. Companies make money off of every video that you watch. I think the point of the film is that people need to not rely on social media so heavily for everyday use.
