- Galileo Galilei was an astronomer, mathematician, physicist, and engineer from Italy. One of his major discoveries is that there are four moons around Jupiter. He also invented the telescope that we are familiar with today.
- When he was younger, Galileo studied medicine at the University of Pisa. He realized that he had more knowledge in the field of mathematics and left the university to become a professor of mathematics at the University of Padua.
