- They end up getting distracted and they set a part of the island on fire. A littlun died because of their carelessness.
- During a World War, a group of boys were being taken to somewhere more safe. Their plane got shot down during their flight and they all landed on an island.
- The boys called an assembly with the conch that was found on the shore and the boys gathered. They talk about the situation and elect Ralph as their leader and Jack as the leader of the hunters.

- Simon, Ralph, and Jack decide to explore the island. They find a good spot at the top of a mountain to start a signal fire just in case a ship passes by the island. They used Piggy's glasses to start the fire.
- After that, Ralph saw a small ship off the shore of the island. Ralph wanted the ship to see the signal fire so that they could get rescued. He had a little bit of hope.
- Unfortunately, the ship didn't see the signal fire. Ralph and Piggy went to where the signal fire was and saw that it was not lit anymore. This made them mad because Jack was supposed to be monitoring the fire but instead he went to go get meat.
