  • Malala Yousafzai was born in Mingora, Swat Valley in Pakistan. Malala was a hard working and smart student. Her father Ziauddin was a school teacher. He taught all the children in the neighborhood. He believed all children should be well educated.

  • One day, a BBC urdu journalist, Abdul Hai Kakar approached Ziauddin with a proposal. A student would write a blog about the Taliban in Swat valley. Surprisingly, Malala agreed to do it. She wrote about what she saw feared and felt. The journalist gave her a pen name, Gul Makai.

  • Malala was then awarded the Nobel Prize. Now Malala leads The Malala Fund (TMF) an organisation that focuses on helping girls go to school. Malala also thinks that simply winning awards wont help Her cause. She urges people to never use age as a barrier for work. She is a beacon of hope in the face of education.
