- THE BET
- THE TEST
- This is Job. He is a very rich man and has 10 children, 7 boys and 3 girls. He also has 700 sheep, 300 camels, 500 oxen, 500 asses and lots and lots of slaves. He was also a very religous man.
- THE PAIN
- When Satan overheard God talking about how he has the best servant in the world and his name in Job. God said he was blameless and upright and that he worships God and avoids evil. But Satan was jealous and told God that if he took away everything he owned that Job would curse God. God agreed to the bet as he trusted Jobs judgement.
- THE OFFER
- The next day 4 of Jobs slaves came to him and told him that all of his animals and other slaves were killed. They also told him that all of his children were killed. So Job got on his knees and prayed to God but never cursed him.
- THE REWARD
- Satan saw that Job had not cursed God so asked God if he could have is will on Job. God agreed as he trusted Job. So Satan gave him terrible leprosy. His wife told him that he should just curse God and die to stop his pain but Job did not.
- 3 of Jobs friends heard of his suffering so they came to visit him. They thought that he must have sinned but he knew that he had not. Then God came to see Job and told him what he had done. He then told his friends that they should take 7 bulls and 7 rams and to offer them to Job for themselves. Then Job will pray for you then I will accept the prayer.
- As Job prayed God gave him all of the things he took back to Job. He had twice as many animals and his children were the most beautiful in the land. Job lived to 140 and praised God every day.
