- Richard tells his mamma that he is hungry but she tells his that there is no food to eat.
- Climax
- Once mamma and Richard got back up on their feet mamma decided to send Richard to the grocery store but some neighbor hood boys jumped him, took his money and sent him home beat up and bruised.
- Falling Action
- Mamma sent him back to the store but Richard ends up getting jumped once again by the same group of boys.
- Resolution
- Mamma gives Richard money one last time but this time mamma tells Richard that has to defend himself and if it happens again he has to figure it out on his own and he can't come home until he brings back those groceries and mamma locks the door.
- Richard finally decides to walk to the store after begging to go back inside and sees the boys once more but instead of the boys jumping him Richard has a pole and defense himself with it and the boys go crying back home.
- Mamma proved herself by sending her boy into the real world and making him solve his own problems and defending himself instead of running away.
