Scout, Jem and Dill find Atticus sitting in front of the county jail seemingly waiting for someone to come. The three hide in a bush and listen to if anything is happening and watching Atticus and what he is doing. These men purposely mess up the Sheriff Mr. Tate so they could come here to kill Mr. Robinson. Thats when Atticus starts to worry a tiny bit.

A group of men come to Atticus wanting to kill Tom Robinson but Atticus prevents them from doing so. These men then threaten to hurt him. Right after Scout jumps out of the bushes she was hiding in to "surprise Atticus" but gets scared when Atticus freaks out and tries to get them out of there since it's not safe for any of them at all.

The group of men leave after Scout talks about knowing them and their family. We then find out Atticus walks home with the kids.

Men: We sent Mr. Tate out on a snipe hunt

Atticus: That changes things then doesn't it?

Jem: Don't go out there, stay here.

Scout: HEY ATTICUS

Atticus: Jem take Scout and Dill home, Go home now

Scout: Hey Mr. Cunningham, I know your son! I may of at first bullied him but now we are good friends! Tell him hey for me

Cunningham: I'll tell him you said hey little lady

Tom: Are they gone?

Atticus: Yes, get some sleep now

Underwood: Yeah they didn't!

Dill: Can I carry your chair for you Mr. Finch?

Atticus: Why, thank you son
