- Adams graduated from Harvard College in 1755. He eventually chose law rather than ministry, then soon began practicing law nearby Boston.
- In 1800 Adams loses the presidency to Thomas Jefferson. Then, 26 years later he died from a heart attack at the age of 90.
- Adams was elected to the Massachusetts delegation that joined the representatives from 12 of 13 colonies in Philadelphia at the First Continental Congress.
