- While it looks like George and Curley are about to fight Lennie has been watching in the back round fascinated by the altercation Lennie lets out a small nervous laugh/chuckle.

- Curley thinks that Lennie is laughing at him and Curley explodes with rage. Lennie gets scared and trys to run away. He looks helplessly at George while Curley is slashing at him.

- Lennie grads a hold of Curley's fist a breaks his hand there is blood on Lennies face and Curley hand. Lennie is frozen in fear and George is slaping Lennie in face countinuasly trying to get him to let go.
