- The highways are divided in 4 parts, National, rural, State and urban Highways.
- A Highway is any public or private road or other public way on land. It is used for major roads, but also includes other public roads and public tracks.
- National Highways: They run through the Length and Breadth of the country. They connect national capital to all state capitals, major cities, towns, border areas.They should have at least two traffic lanes, good surface, finishing and exelent strength to carry heavy traffic.
- State Highways: A state highway, or state road that is usually a road that is either numbered or maintained by a sub-national state or province.
- Urban Highways: Urban roads or urban highways are especially in urban areas like little or big cities. They can be a boulevard, avenue, street, etc.

- And finally Rural highways: Rural roads or highways are defined as low traffic volume Highways located in forested and rangeland settings that serve residential, recreational and resource management uses.
