- Verbal communication is oral and written language. Typically, humans communicate by speaking or writing. However, reading and listening are also forms of verbal communication.

- Other forms of non-verbal communication include vocalics or paralanguage which is the use of volume, tone, rate, pitch. There is also artifacts. Body language such as gestures and facial expression are also important.
