Sure! Here in the South we survive off our cash crops: indigo, cotton, and tobacco. These grow very well here because of our warm climate, fertile soil, and substantial length for our growing season.
I've come to study life here. How about we start with geographic features?
Well that actually brings us to political divisions. We are practically the opposite from the North, we are in favor of slavery and popular sovereignty. Popular sovereignty helps use have the free-states and slaves states. We have a lot of disputes between us and the North. The North made up the Free Soil Party to try to get rid of allowing slaves. We believe that the states should have more power
Is the North like this too?
Well lately, we've really been thriving off of cotton since the cotton gin was made that and our slave labor makes the production cheaper. We also have tobacco, indigo, wheat, corn, rye, and oats. Slaves have been very useful. They pick and harvest rice, tobacco, and sugarcane amongst other things. They are what we call, "prime field hands".
