  • Rasputin meets the royal family
  • Hello, what brings you here.
  • Yes, I'm Rasputin..I can heal your son.
  • He has Hemophilia... Nothing works and we're worried
  • You're here to help cure our son, right?
  • Rasputin, a Siberian-born muzhik, or peasant, who underwent a religious conversion as a teenager and proclaimed himself a healer with the ability to predict the future, won the favor of Czar Nicholas II and Czarina Alexandra through his ability to stop the bleeding of their hemophiliac son, Alexei, in 1908. The “Mad Monk,” as he was called by many, was a heavy drinker. It is said that he rarely sobered up, and when he did, it was only to spend time with various ladies of the court. In fact, despite his severe lack of hygiene, Rasputin managed to gain the favors of a lot of noblewomen.
  • Rasputin heals Alexie
  • Rasputin was introduced by Bishop Theophane into several salons of Petersburg society, where he gained, between 1905 and 1908, a large popularity in the capital. People were quite interested in him. He then approaches the castle to pretend to cure Alexie.
  • Royal family thanks Rasputin
  • Rasputin first met the tsar on 1 November 1905, at the Peterhof Palace. The tsar recorded the event in his diary, writing that he and Alexandra had "made the acquaintance of a man of God – Grigory, from Tobolsk province". Rasputin, a Siberian-born muzhik, or peasant, who underwent a religious conversion as a teenager and proclaimed himself a healer with the ability to predict the future, told the queen and king that he would be able to heal their son, Alexie, from hemophilia.
  • King Tsar leaves for WW1
  • Rasputin made himself like a prophet and just tells the king and queen to prevent giving Alexie asprin. Rasputin was not a doctor and did not heal Alexei medically. Rasputin often prayed for Alexei. He offered advice to Tsarina Alexandra and Alexei's doctor. Often this advice included rest for Alexei, which would have allowed his body to heal. Alexei's bleeding by disallowing the administration of aspirin, then widely used to relieve pain, but unknown as an anti-clotting agent until the 1950s.
  • After Alexie is healed from Rasputin's "trick" the royal family is happy and thanks Rasputin very much. Rasputin won the favor of Czar Nicholas II and Czarina Alexandra through his ability to stop the bleeding of their hemophiliac son, Alexei, in 1908. Rasputin only does this to have a higher place next to the royal family and have a higher social class.
  • After a bit of time, King Tsar has to leave to battle in WW1. The queen says her goodbyes. Because no king would rule Russia after the king leaves, Queen Alexandra was now the one responsible to rule Russia and take the place of the throne.
