Hi everyone what seems to trouble you?
New Company RMR issued a covid 19 memorandum that stated that it's compulsory for all staff to be vaccinated bv end October 2021. The memo was emailed to all staff a week ago
Staff concerns
These seems to be a 50/50 split in for and against the memorandum
Jerry the newlv elected shop steward was informed by the staff - who speedily approached experienced shop steward Mel about the matter- seeking advice about this sudden deadline and the wav management drpped this bomb .
Trade union contacted
Just contacted the union and gave them a heads- up
With management's approval - Jerry held a meeting with staff to hear exactly what the staff's concerns were
Information gathering
The union requested we gather all the facts while they schedule a meeting with managemet
Staff concerns were that vaccination s were mandatory and any non compliance will result in immediate termination of employment
After Jerry and Mel held the meeting with staff and listened to their grieviences - the union reps contacted the respective union, and informed them of the matter.
The union reqested that the shop stewards gather solid reasons why staff wanted the union's involvement and the severitv of the situation, while the union contacts management to arrange a meeting regarding the info gathered,
