- Abu Jameel is a father who lives with his wife and daughter and works as a town laborer for cleaning streets.
- Abu Jameel’s daughter was named Rida and she was not very pretty. One day it was a festival day where the King’s son rode his horse and wandered around the city. Prince Alwan walked under Abu Jameel’s house and when Rida saw him she poured water on him that smelled like jasmine by adding perfume on it the her dad bought her and pretend it was the smell of her feet washing it with clean water and the prince believed that because that what her mother said to convince the prince.
- Alwan rushed to the palace and told his mom about everything and wanted to marry Rida.
- The queen went to Abu Jameel’s house and talked to Rida’s mom and told her that she would like to see Rida’s face so that she could marry the prince, but the mother refused and said no you could only see her hand and when the marriage is completed you could see her face. The queen saw Rida’s hands which were soft and white which convinced her that she was pretty to marry her son.
- The time came and Rida was going to marry the prince and when she was getting ready she first went to get a bath and when she was done the door was locked on her and the whole house was empty then, seven ghosts appeared and told her that they were her imaginary sisters and that they would make her pretty in every way, but in return, she cannot talk to the prince at all until he says a special oath.
