- This scene shows when Juliet's mother told Juliet about the news of Count Paris's proposal. Juliet does not wish to get married, but she promises her parents that she will try to like him by getting to know him at the party that night.
- This scene shows when Romeo, Mercutio, and Benvolio were about to enter their family's enemy, the Capulets, party at their house. Mercutio and Benvolio encourage Romeo to forget about Rosaline and meet other girls at this party. However, Romeo feels too depressed and does not wish to have fun, and intends on seeing Rosaline.
- This scene shows the turning point where Romeo sees Juliet for the first time. Her breathtaking beauty makes him forget about Rosaline and it makes him want to know who she is.
