My expedition was a failure because I didn't find gold which caused the Spanish to loose interest and ignore Texas for a brief time.

- Hello, I am a famous French explorer, La Salle. In 1685 I went on a expedition to Missisipi river, but accidently ended up at Matagorda Bay. Once there I built a fort called Fort St. Luis. On my way back from his expedition I was killed by my own men. My expedition caused Texas to gain more interest from the Spanish.
