- After travelling with the two con men for a long time, Huck and Jim watch as the Duke and the Dauphin met three girls and scammed them for $6000 in gold.
- Huck finds the gold and sneaks it back to the girls. He fell in love with Mary Jane, one of the girls. She inspired him to do the right thing, so Huck returns the money and leaves it in a coffin.
- Eventually, Huck escapes from the Duke and the Dauphin. He tries to escape on the raft with Jim, but he can't find him. Huck soon finds out that two con men sold him off to a man named Silas Phelps.
- Huck finds the Phelps' house, where Jim is being held, and is caught by Sally Phelps, Silas' wife, but Huck pretends to be their nephew, Tom Sawyer, to escape.
- Huck meets the real Tom Sawyer, and they plot to help Jim escape. They succeed in their plan.
- Sally and Silas Phelps are not mad at Huck. They ask Huck if he wants to stay with them, but Huck decides that he and Jim are going to go explore "Indian Territory." Huck is sick of being "sivilized."The End
