- She was sixth child and had five elder brothers, so her grandmother wanted a girl and got so much love that she became a non-traditional girl but was send to local village school because of family custom and refused early marriage.
- I am the first woman in the world to climb Mount Everest twice and the first woman to successfully climb Mount Everest from Kangshung Face. I climbed the peak first in May 1992 and then again in May 1993 with an Indo-Nepalese Team.
- Then she went to Nehru institute of mountaineers, so wrote an apology letter to her father as he didn't know it. She practiced climbing the mountain and gained endurance to cold weather and became youngest to climb Mount Everst twice at the age of 20
- I then threatened my parents for higher studies and went to Delhi for itand after that I went to Maharani college at Jaipur and got a room at Kasturba hotel which faced Aravalli hills and saw some villagers going up the hill and then disappear, so went there and saw they were mountaineers and I asked them if I could join them, and they allowed me and encouraged me.
- I tried to save two mountaineers but could save only one named 'Mohan Singh'. And climbed 2nd time with collaboration with Indo-Nepalese women exposition and got Padma Shri from Indian government. and her feeling was indescribable and patriotism.
- And she brought 500Kg of garbage from the Himalayas as she wanted cleanliness.
