  • In 6000 BC Fermentation was created. Louis Pasteur was the person that created Fermentation. The place it was created in was Neolithic China. Fermentation was created when people got tired of going out to get their own food by hunting. So, once people figured out that they could plant their food instead of going out and hunting for it they did that. Then people had more time to focus on more important things

  • About 3500 BC Bronze was created. It was created by The Ancient Sumerians. The only pure metals that the earth has a large amount of is Copper, Gold, Silver, and Platinum. Unfortunately all of those materials are either too valuable, soft, or too heavy to be able to do make defense weapons with. When people started to realize that they could mix copper and tin to make a good defense weapon with, then bronze was created.
  • The Harbor-Bosch process
  • In 1791 Saponification was created. It was created by Nicholas Leblanc who was a French Chemist. Saponification is how soap was created. In the olden days water was a health hazard. Because of that many people didn't bath as often as they should. Then once Saponification was created that changed because it helped people be able to take a shower and get clean even more.
  • Millard Reactions
  • In 1825 Silicon was created. It was created by Jön Jackob Barzelius who was a Swedish chemist. It was created in Stockholm, Sweden. Silicon is a chip. This Silicon chip is what makes computers, smartphones, and smart thermostats able to work. So, without silicon we wouldn't be able to have any of the phones or almost anything technological that we have today. 
  • The Harbor-Bosch process was created in 1909. It was created by Fritz Harbor who was a German chemist. He had help from a couple of friends named Carl Bosch and Robert Le Rossignol. The place where it was created was Germany. The Harbor-Bosch process is where you combine nitrogen and hydrogen to form ammonia. This process can help make fertilizer to make farming a bit easier for farmers. Nitrogen can even be used to make salad.
  •  In 1913 Millard Reactions were created. It was created by Louis Camille Millard who was a French Chemist. Millard Reactions are what adds the delicious flavor too many of the food we eat. It is what puts the brown on hamburgers, what puts the crispy on crust, and even puts the golden edges on French Fries.
