- 30 years before the French and Indian war had even started, the Cherokee signed a treaty with the British to prevent the Cherokee from ever trading with the French.

- Though, because the British, despite what the Cherokee thought the British was gonna do, didn't protect the Cherokee during French, and allied tribes' attacks, the Cherokee became angry with the British. And out of anger, they took possession of a bunch of British horses belonging to settlers.

- This lead to the British attacking the Cherokee, in which the Cherokee responded in fighting back, leading to a later war called the Cherokee war.
- In response to the upcoming war, the royal Governor of South Carolina tries to control the Cherokee by stopping all trade with them and taking Native American's hostage.
- Two years after the war started, it ended, the war resulted in many deaths among the Cherokee. The treaty that ended the war forced the Cherokee to give up most of their land and created a boundary separating South Carolina and the Cherokee.
