  • 1. A process that can happen quickly in the rock cycle is volcanic eruptions. When the earths internal heat causes magma to rise to the surface, it can result in a volcanic eruption that releases lava and gases. This process may happen very quickly, sometimes within a matter of days or weeks.2. On the other hand, a process that occurs slowly over a long period of time is the formation of sedimentary rocks through compaction and cementation this process involves the gradual accumulation of sediment such as sand or mud, over thousands or even millions of years. Through the pressure of layer piling up, the sediments eventually compact and harden into sedimentary rocks.3. When we consider a process on a large scale globally, we can look at the movement of tectonic plates. The earth's lithosphere is divided into several large plates that constantly shift and interact with each other. This movement, known as plate tectonics, can lead various geological phenomena like earthquakes, the formation of mountain ranges, and the creation of oceanic trenches, Plate tectonics shape the earths surface on a global scale.4. On a smaller, local scale, we can observe the process of weathering and erosion. Weathering refers to the breakdown of rocks into smaller pieces due to exposure to elements like wind, water, and temperature changes. Erosion, on the other hand, involves transport of these weathered materials by natural agents like river glaciers, or wind. These processes can shape the landscape of a specific area, like the formation of canyons or the smoothing of rocks along a beach.
  • 1. process driven by energy from the sun:weathering and erosion caused by the suns heat and radiation2. process driven by energy from within the earth's interior:melting of rocks due to the earth's internal heat3. process driven by gravity:sedimentation and compaction of rocks under the force of gravity
  • Wait so I just explained all of that for no reason?!
  • This is all great information but.. I'm good. I'd rather just stay a boring rock.
  • Yup. Pretty much. Bye!
