Notifying parents and requesting conference to address Liana's learning needs
Parents can have a difficult time navigating through the educational process with a child that has disabilities. When teachers are proactive in providing parents with information and keeping them abreast of their child's performance, parents, who also want what's best for their child see you as an ally instead of an enemy (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, n.d.).

Parents request conference with administration to address concerns in the classroom.
Parents who are upset with teachers, don't usually address the teacher, they go straight to administration. DOJ has already investigated school systems for not following IDEA policies and targeting students with disabilities. Angry parents is never the goal and administration cannot protect you if you do not follow the policies put in place to protect our students and our educators.

Requires teacher to shadow another classroom to see the IDEAS policies implemented in the classroom
Schools have to educate professionals on how to abide by IDEA policies. The best way to do so is to allow teachers struggling with implementing the policies to shadow other classroom teachers that are known for properly and effectively abiding by the IDEA policies. Using other teachers and district trainings is a great way to refresh teachers on what the policy requires.
