  • *Writing Intensifies* Can't believe we have to surrender...
  • Nein! Ich kann nicht glauben, dass das passiert!
  • Let us defeat Nazi Germany together!
  • Remember, this is for our safety. I still don't like you.
  • Alright Brenda. Let's make this weapon and destroy Japan.
  • Yass
  • At first, General Jodi was hoping to limit the terms of Germanys surrender. The reason of their surrender seemed to be the failure of their offense and the loss of allies (mid to late 1918). The signing of a ceasefire came after this on November 11th 1918. Then Germany was also divided into zones of occupation.
  • Relations between the U.S and Soviet Union had been strained years before World War II started. However, the alliance between the 2 became a necessity for the defeat of Nazi Germany. Since Germany was too powerful at the time, the U.S and Soviet Union needed to do it even thought they disliked each other. Which then comes to a realization of maybe Soviet Union is like the U.S in a way.
  • The Manhattan Project was a code name for the effort to create a functional atomic weapon during World War II. They created this idea from the fears of German scientists making such weapons using nuclear technology. Because Adolf Hitler would have been ready to use it. This project would be put to good use to keep Americans safe.
  • Oh crap!
  • Surrender now Japan!
  • During World War II (August 1945), an American B-29 bomber deployed the worlds first ever atomic bomb over the Japanese city of Hiroshima. The explosion killed about 80,000 people instantly. Later on, tens of thousands of people would die because of radiation exposure. All of this in order to save American lives and to cut the war shorter.
  • Bombing of Nagasaki happened only 3 days after the bombing of Hiroshima. However, this time the U.S dropped a plutonium-fueled atomic bomb over the port of Nagasaki, meanwhile the Hiroshima bomb was uranium-fueled. The reason for it was to prove American strength. The bomb then resulted in 70 percent of buildings were burnt and about 140,000 people had perished. It also increased the chance of cancer and chronic disease.
  • Japan surrendered mostly because of the nuclear weapon shock at the end of World War II. They seemed to really surrender when Soviet Union entered the war. Japanese leaders said the bombs forced them to surrender, but I think they were just embarrassed to say that they were defeated. It was just a matter of time because they would have surrendered at one point.
