- During the French and Indian war, the British and Cherokee were friends. They signed a treaty which said that they were allies and the Cherokee had to help the British. The Cherokee did not really have a choice to sign and were forced to do so.

- However, later the British and SC colonists did not defend the Cherokee when they were attacked by the French. This showed them that the British and colonies were just using them for stuff. This caused them to end the treaty with Britian and the SC colonies.
- Fighting broke out in the colonies and the woods. The Cherokee were revolting and taking on the colonists. Seeing this the British and colonies fought back.
- The governer of SC stopped trade with the Cherokee. They even took some hostages from the Cherokee tribe. This caused even more bloody fights between the two.
- The Cherokee war lasted for two years with both sides having a lot of people die. It was from 1761-1763 and was one of the wars fought South Carolina.
- In the end, the Cherokee were forced to give up most of there land. They were later forced to move to the west away from the SC colony. Therefore, there would be no more wars and you could say the British and SC colony won, but both sides suffered greatly.
