- Henry II and Becket started off as friends but the Church were in control of some of the country as they had there own laws and court, this made Henry very angry.

- Having the Church in charge of some of the country made Henry angry so Henry put his best friend(Becket) in charge of the Church but...
- Then Becket started taking being the role of Archbishop seriously and followed Christian rules and refused to change the Churches laws, this made Henry very angry. When Becket found out that Henry was angry he moved to France for 6 years
- Four Knights came and said that they could help, by going to Canterbury Cathedral, but Henry never asked them what they were really going to do...
- The 4 knights arrived at the Cathedral, and thought that Henry had told them to kill Becket so when they arrived Becket said, "Kill Me if you want but God is with me." The 4 knights killed him.
- The four knights were sent on a pilgrimage to Holy Land, none of them survived the journey. Henry walked barefoot through the streets of Canterbury and prayed while the monks whipped his bare back, he then slept on the hard floor where Becket had died the Pope forgave him.
