- Muhammad was born in 570 C.E in the town of Makkah.
- The Hijrah
- One day, Muhammad went to pray in a cave in the mountains. While there, he was visited by the angel Gabriel who declared him to be God's prophet.
- The Call back to Mecca
- Muhammad began to preach to other citexin, which some converted to become Muslim. Most Makkans rejected him, though, and called him a liar, tortured his followers, and even started a boycott which resulted in his family members dying.
- Muhammad's Death
- Soon after, Muhammad and his followers left Makkah on a journey known as the hijrah to Medina. Muhammad developed a Muslim community there. In 624, fighting broke out between the Muslims and the Mekka citizens. They eventually made a truce.
- Muhammad returned to Mecca with an army of 1500 converts to Islam and entered the city unopposed and without bloodshed.
- In March 632, Muhammad led his final pilgrimage. In Makkah, he delivered his Last Sermon. Shortly after he returned to Madinah, Muhammad died.
