- Charlie had a talk with his teacher. Teacher told him he would be a good candidate for the experiment. Ms. Kinian said "Charlie you would be a good person for the experiment." Charlie went to see the two doctors to do some tests first. One was a Raw Shock test where Charlie had to figure out what a picrure was hidden in a black paint picture.
- Falling Action
- After the tests and IQ surgery, Charlie realized that he was getting smarter and his spelling was improving. He then figured out later though that the doctor's were taking advantage of him.Algernon the mouse starts to become aggressive and would not eat he also started biting people too.Charlie tried to figure out why. He did some research and he tested out the results he had found.
- Falling Action
-  He went to the lab to test out his lab results then he saw Algernon and realized that he was not waking up. He started shaking and had a seizure and then passed away.Charlie was so sad and then figured out that at some point it would happen to him too because he had the operation to improve his IQ level too.
- Resolution 
- Charlie fell in love with Ms. Kinian. Then after that his memory started to go down hill as he forgot how to spell words and had trouble remembering important information in books.He told Ms. Kinian that before he left if she could bring flowers to Algernon's grave. She had said yes. Charlie also went and visited his mom after so many years.
- Charlie felt better after he had visited his mom. He was happy again. Charlie started to attend his night school again because he had forgotten that he was no longer a student there after he had the operation. He saw his classmates Mike and  Shannon. He realized that he did not belong there since he was able to complete harder assignments and tasks.
- Charlie left to go to New York hoping that he would become smarter. He had  become less smart after he started remembering information from books. He had started to forget how to spell words and forgot information about other  things as well too.
