- Stanley got sent to court and had 2 choices to go, either Camp Green Lake or jail. Stanley and his family choose Camp Green Lake because they thought it had a beautiful lake. In the end, Stanley goes to Camp Green Lake.
- Stanley is always in the wrong place at the wrong time due to his no good dirty pig stealing great great grandfather. He was on his way home from school when suddenly a pair of red sneakers hit his head.

- When Stanley reaches Camp Green Lake, he meets. the Warden, Mr Sir, Mr Pendanski and the campers in tent D. They are Squid, Magnet, Zero, Armpit, Zigzag, X-Ray. The campers are very rude to Stanley at first.
- Stanley realises they dig holes to build character but, he thinks they are looking for something. The hole has to be 5 feet wide and 5 feet deep. Stanley gets a canteen a 2 pairs of clothes to wear.
- Stanley meets a boy named Zero and they become best friends. Stanley even starts teaching Zero the letters because he doesn't know how to read or write. Stanley realises that Zero is the one who stole the shoes and that's why he is here.
- Stanley notices that everyone thinks Zero is dumb and stupid do Zero hit Mr Pendanski and ran away with his shovel. After a few weeks Stanley joined him and they started looking for gods thumb. In the end, they find the treasure that the warden wants and Stanley takes Zero home with him. At home, Zero finds his mom.
