- I choose this scene from the book "The Death of Ivan Ilyich" The book is about the long agony of a man who gradually has to come to terms with his mortality. This specif scene, before I edited it, was the scene where Ivan goes to the hospital and learns he has a potentially lethal illness. I changed it into a sci-fi genre, to make Ivan Ilyich never have to face death. Ivan Ilyich was a very regular person, so I imagine that after he learns he can live forever, he wouldn't really do anything too extraordinary besides trying to further pursue is career as a judge.
