When Alli grew up, the USA was racially segregated, so Alli couldn't go to the same restaurant as white people!
When Alli was 12, someone stole his bike! He told the Police Officer he would beat up whoever stole his bike! It turned out the police man was a boxing coach. He offered to teach Alli how to fight. Alli accepted.
Alli found he was really good at boxing. He was much faster than other boxers. He won 100 out of his 105 games played!
In 1960, Alli went to the olympics and he won gold medal! When he got back to the USA, he was a hero. He decided to become a pro boxer.
In 1964, Alli changed his religion to Islam. A few years later the vietnam war started. He said he didn't want to join the army because of his religion. He went to jail but this was overuled by the supreme court.
Then, in 1970, Alli made his comeback to boxing. His most famous fight was against George Foreman, when Alli knockede out Foreman in the 8th round, to regain the title of heavyweight champion of the world.
