- Circe tricked the drunken and confused men "and shut them into a pigsty (line 670)".
- "Eurylochus came running (line 677)" to the ship after witnessing the event. They were so scared, they couldn't "speak a word (line 679)" of what had happened.

- Odysseus "rushes to Circe's Hall (line 684)" to confront her. He was immune to her tricks thanks to a "moly (line 686)" from Hermes. Circe agrees to free Odysseus' crew.

- Circe had convinced Odysseus to "stay with her (line 690)". After "seasons of feasting " Odysseus and his crew beg to "return home (line 692)" with Circe's help.
- It's time for us to go home.
- You must go to the land of the dead... alone.
