- Mrs Lyons persuades Mrs Johnson to give her one of the babies.Mrs Johnson is a cleaner at Mrs Lyons house and has no money and is worried as to how financially she will raise her twins. When the twins are born Mrs Lyons takes Edward and raises him as her own and keeps this secret from her husband who thinks Edward is biologically his.
- Mrs Johnson has to go back to work because she is poor so works at Mrs Lyons house cleaning, she finds it hard seeing baby Edward everyday as she knows the truth. Daily Mrs Johnson will try and fuss and nurture Edward however this upsets Mrs Lyons because she is scared the truth will come out so Mrs Lyons fires her.#160;At age 7 Edward and his twin brother Mickey meet and become best friends alongside Mickey's best friend Linda.
- The three get into trouble with the police because they threw stones at a window. Because of the trouble and the realisation that the boys have become friends Mrs Lyons panics and decides to move away in order to keep the BIG secret hidden.
