Marie cried her heart out as she thought Timothee would never come back for her, he would meet a sweet maiden who was willing to do whatever he pleases and would bring him joy and conceive his children. Her child servant Louis went to comfort her as best as he could but his effort was in vain as she could not be comforted.
Four years passed and on the evening of Maries 16th birthday she was at her balcony when she heard a soft knock on the wood from below. she looked over to see her beloved Timothee calling her name. He beckoned her to run away with him. Marie was hesitant at first, but eventually gave in. She said she may not be able to bring him all the joy he deserved, but he said he loved her and that was enough.
A kind elderly monk agreed to take them to safety and took them on his horse and cart. Marie was so worried that they would be caught that Timothee had to hold her for the whole journey.
Just as the sun was beginning to rise Timothee stopped the monk and cart and helped Marie down. Marie was confused, why had they stopped at a cluster of old mud huts in the middle of nowhere? Timothee explained that they had to hide out there for a month for everyone to forget about her disappearance. Marie begged him to take her somewhere else but his stuck to his initial plan.
Although the outside of the hut looked dingy it was a little more cosier inside the warm fire cast shadows of the straw walls creating images that Marie was fascinated by maybe she could survive some time in here with such beautiful mirages, she thought.
After many years Timothee and Marie left the mud huts and moved into a quiet town buying a house for the ever growing family they had finally found peace.
