Diana spent a couple more minutes in Alex's room, reminiscing and left. She was on her way back to the living room where the funeral was being held, when her mind began to wander again. If she was to approach the police to help with the investigation, would she succeed in finding justice for Alex? Or would his killer kill her too?
Refusal of the Call
Once she returned to the living room, most people had already left, leaving only Alex's parents. Mr and Mrs Alonzo came up to Diana, eyes filled with so much sorrow and grief it almost made Diana start crying again. Mrs Alonzo reached for Diana's hand, and began to speak softly.
You know, our Alex loved you a lot. I still remember his face when he came home after you said yes to being his girlfriend. We've never seen him that happy before. You made him really happy. We're glad he had you in his life.
Upon hearing those words, all hesitations and concerns went out the window. Diana had made up her mind -- she would seek justice for Alex, no matter what may happen.
Refusal of the Call
But before she could say anything, the door burst open, and all three of them ran to the foyer. There, three angry police officers were pointing at her, shouting...
THERE SHE IS! LET'S ARREST HER!
The Mentor
It all happened so fast. Diana's mind was spinning and she felt like she couldn't even breathe. The Alonzos were behind her, screaming and yelling at her, yet it felt like she couldn't hear anything. She couldn't believe it. They were accusing her of killing the love of her life, Alex!

The following days passed by in a blur. People kept talking about Diana as 'the girl who murdered her boyfriend'. When the day of the trial arrived, her parents even came to support her, but alas the Garcias' lawyer barely got a word in before the judge had doomed her.
