The Rock Cycle Comic Part 2

- They stayed there for a few hours, but suddenly, all the sediments, (including Ignacio and Sedina) started to push towards the center of the earth. Dick didn’t really knew why they were doing that but other sedimentary and igneous rocks started to do the same thing. As they were descending, the heat and pressure of the mantle was increasing, until they started to bake. “What is happening” asked Dick. Ignacio answered “We are baking! Remember I told you we were made out of crystals? Well, now because of the heat and pressure is changing us and making larger or new crystals!”
- We are going to the earth's mantle!
- Where are we going?
- What are we going to do there?
- We are going to get baked!
- You are turning into a metamorphic rock
- Hi! I'm Mateo!
- A metamorphic rock called Mateo, was right next to them and joined in and said: “You are becoming what I am, a metamorphic rock! Pretty cool huh?” But then, Mateo explained to them, that being a metamorphic rock, didn’t last very long since, because of the tremendous heat, they would soon start melting and become once again, magma. Dick was really surprised to hear this and started to worry if this would hurt but Mateo, Sedina and Ignacio assured him that everything was going to be fine!
- Not at all!
- What is happening?
- Will it hurt?
- Ignacio went close to Dick and told him that they would have to go on this process alone since there is a lot of magma in the earth’s mantle so they would probably get lost and it would be early impossible to find each other again. Ignacio told him that his spell of making him a rock only lasted until he completed the cycle by becoming an igneous rock once again so he had nothing to worry about. But, leaving and never seeing his new friend ever again made Dick really sad but he knew that their destiny was inevitable so he just decided to say goodbye to Mateo, Sedina and Ignacio.
- Goodbye! You too
- Goodbye everyone! It was great meeting you all!
- Instantly, they all started to become magma and to lose each other. Dick waited there all alone with the hot lava for a few hours until he felt like the earth was pulling him upward and he felt really nervous, but excited to have arms and legs once again. Soon, he was at the top of a volcano that was erupting and fell through its hole like all the other lava.
- It was really nice for Dick to feel the cool and fresh air since in the mantle it was really really hot. When he finally reached land, he did what Ignacio told him to do to become again an igneous rock. He just had to wait to cool and become solid again, which was really easy, but he was exhausted of the amazing but complicated experience of being a rock and going through their cycle, so he fell asleep. A couple hours later, he was one again in the street where he had found Ignacio as a perfect, cool igneous rock and “puff” out of nowhere he became once again a human being!
- I'm so exhausted, I'm just going to fall asleep right here.
- After all this experience, Dick was happy after a really long time of being really sad since he understood that there are people (and objects) that h¡go through really tough things literally every single day. He also finally realized that his life was not bad at all and the actual reason that made him so sad was his attitude towards things so from that day on, he decided to change and become a better and happier person!
- I'm so glad I am a human again!
- I'm going to keep my promise and I'll be a happier and better man!
