This was my chance to win the game for my team. None of my teammates believed in me. So, I had to catch this ball to prove them wrong! With great trepidation, I set my legs in the correct position to catch. I was all ready....
Girls the game today was tough for us! We need to get our heads in the game!
and.... I missed it. I was in such shock, I felt like I was choking, and I could only make out the words "oh god." Without any hesitation, my teammates started yelling at me. I was so embarrassed.
I'm going to show them how great I am!
After the game, the locker room was soon teeming with my angry teammates. They were saying malicious things to me, and before I knew it, tears were streaming down my face. I kept apologizing but nothing seemed to be enough for them.
They stopped yelling at me when the coach walked in. He told us how we didn't play well as a team and how we need to get our heads in the game. Rhonda (my teammate), however, did not think it was the whole team's fault, and she made that very clear. The coach didnt even tell her off. This made me mad.
I was overflowing with anger by the time I got home. The first thing I did was plan how I was going to become the best softball player anybody has ever seem. I knew I had to prove them wrong.
I exercised every day, preparing for the big game. After school I would immediately go to the field and practice. I was becoming adept at throwing, catching, and hitting. I had to show my teammates how good I can be.
