- Allegory of the Cave
- Hi students! I am Plato. I am going to share the story "Allegory of the cave" with you, which has been told by Socrates.
- There were 3 prisoners in a cave, who have been chained since their birth. They never came out of the cave in their entire life.
- The prisoners were chained facing a wall with a behind behind them.
- They could only see the shadows on the wall coming from behind them. They accepted it as their only reality.
- One day, one of them set himself free and ran outside of the cave to discover the new reality.
- When he came out, he was blinded by the rays of the sun, it was pain caused by the light as he stayed in dark till then. It took time for him to get adjusted.
