- Sparta was so unhappy with Athens they decide to journey to Athens and attack. Athens had hidden behind the walls of their city so Sparta could not get to them. Sparta chose to burn down the land outside the city walls, including Athens crops.
- Revenge
- During the second year of Athens being in the city walls a plague struck the city. The plague killed 1/3 of the population of the city. Along with the 1/3 killed their ruler Pericles was also killed.
- Victory
- After the plague Athens and Sparta made peace with each other. However, this peace did not last long. The Athenians were still very angry with Sparta for trapping them inside the walls and being the reason Athens lost 1/3 of their population.
- The Athenians wanted their revenge against the Spartans, so they sent a huge army of 20,000 men to Sicily one of Sparta's main suppliers . Athens planned on destroying Sicily.
- Sparta came to Sicily's rescue and fought Athens. Sparta defeated Athens and Athens lost a lot of their confidence because of this. Then Philosopher started to appear.
