King Midas

- King Midas loved 3 things in life his daughter, his rose garden and gold.
- One day he went to look at his roses and found a very weak Satyr. It was trying to reach some fruit but was to ill. King Midas decided to help him.
- Kind Midas carried the Satyr up to one of the spare rooms and gently placed him an a mattress. King Midas fed him, gave him water and looked after him until he was strong enough to hunt for himself again.
- The Gods heard of the wonderful thing King Midas had done, they called upon him to thank him and said they would grant him 1 wish. He already had his daughter and could grow beautiful roses so he wished for everything he touched to turn to gold. The gods tried to tell him that was a mistake but he would not listen,
- Kind Midas was trying to have lunch later that day but all of his food turned to gold, he went to look at his roses but as he told them they all turned to gold. Worst of all his daughter ran to hug him and before he could stop her he had turned her to gold to. He was devastated. He begged the gods to take the wish away and return everything to normal.
- The Gods told him to wash his hands in a river and everything would return to normal. King Midas did this and watched in delight as his daughter and roses came back to life. King Midas was very grateful.
