Macbeth, Banquo and King Duncan's generals find three strange witches who tell them the prophesy. The prophesy states Macbeth will become king of Scotland and Banquo's descendents will become kings. Soon after Macbeth gets promoted but not to king.
Macbeth with the help of Lady Macbeth plot to kill king Duncan. They wait till night where Lady Macbeth drugs the guards and Macbeth kills the king. Macbeth regrets his decision soon after. Macduff discovers the body and Malcolm and Donalbain flee in fear and are also blamed for the kings murder.
Macbeth becomes King of Scotland but still carries his guilt of killing the King and his insecurities. Macbeth remembers what the prophesy says about Banquo and plans for him and his son to be killed. Banquo is murdered but his son manages to escape.
Macbeth seeks out help from the witches. They tell him that he is safe for now however, soon an army will still march into battle against him. They also remind him the Scottish succession will still come from Banquo's son. Angry, Macbeth goes on to kill many including Macduff's family. Macduff who is pained with grief visits Malcolm (Duncan's son) and persuades him to lead the army against Macbeth.
Macbeth finally feels safe in his remote castle but Malcolm's army is growing closer. The night of the battle Lady Macbeth is overfilled with guilt that she tells her doctor everything. She then goes on to commit suicide. As the finial battle is about to commence Macbeth hears of his wife's death and mourns.
After losing the battle Macduff challenges Macbeth and it is there that Macbeth finds out Macduff is the child of a caesarean birth. Knowing he is doomed Macbeth surrenders to his enemy and Macduff brings back his head to Malcolm. Malcolm declares peace and leaves to be crowned King of Scones.
