- the year 2082 was the year that everyone was equal but not the equality that they were fighting for in 2020 but equality as in every person is the same. Hazel and Geroge were enjoy the afternoon fine in this society
- Whats it like to have a handicap?
- Its like hitting a milk bottle with a ball peen hammer.
- George goes on to speak about his handicap which is created to make those that are smart an equally level of smartness of those around until their conversation was interrupted by the tv
- The important news was of a boy named Harrison Burgeron fourteen and on the loose wanting to become an emperor and after they announced the news Harrison Burgeron barged in and tried to take control

- After Harrison had tried to take over Diana Moon Glampers finally came and shoot both Harrison and the empress dead
- Something sad was on tv but I don't remember what
- Then the tv cut out and Hazel turned to comment but he had gone to get a beer and when he had come back she forgot the events on the tv that had made her sad.
- Why have you been crying?
- Well its best to forget the sad thinks ok hazel
- Ok
- And then they went on with there day just as non of the events took place that day.
- In his story "Harrison Bergeron," Kurt Vonnegut makes the point that there is no way that the world can be perfect because throughout the story the government tries to make a world of perfectionism but that destroys intelligence and strength. In the story, Geroge is someone who is considered above average and that is why he has a handicap in that society it was not allowed to be above average because it would therefore not be equal and that was the goal that the government had in mind which at the end of the day means there will no longer be change because everyone is stuck in the same place. A perfect example of being stuck in the same place is when Hazel repeats the same thing when George says you can say that again but because she doesn't know that he was exaggerating she says the same thing meaning she was stuck in the same place. Within this story, it shows that they wanted to suppress difference so that there was equality but as we know differences are exactly why we are here today because someone in the past decided to be different.
