- Once upon a time, there was a Greek God named Hera who lived on Mount Olympus. Lots of the gods thought she was pretty, but she turned all of them down. She longed for a husband, but she was careful about which one she chose. She had a bad temper, which was why her mother, Rhea, sent her to her Aunt Tethys and Uncle Oceanus at the bottom of the ocean.
- After a while, Hera moved back to Mount Olympus. Eventually, all the male gods decided to leave her alone, because she kept shooing them away. There was one god who wouldn’t take no for an answer, though.

- Zeus proposed to her, and she turned it down straight away. But Zeus had a plan.”If I get you to say’I love you’ to me,” he said, “Then will you marry me?” Hera accepted the challenge, and the game was on.
- It was a stormy night, and Hera saw a bird struggling outside her window. She brought it inside and nursed it back to health.When she was about to set it free, she whispered, “I love you” into it’s ear. “Ha!” The bird shouted, as it turned into Zeus. “You said ‘I love you!’”Hera was mad, but she couldn’t break a promise.
- They got married, and lived happily ever after (for now).
