Hercules, son of the god Zeus had a really bad temper. With the help of his stepmother Hera who hated him, he went temporarily insane and got himself in a lot of trouble.
As punishment from the gods he had to fulfill twelve labors or tasks.
But the hardest labor was to kill a horrible nine-headed monster named Lernaean Hydra.
I shall slay you Hydra!
Hercules tried to kill the monster with some of his weapons but nothing worked.
UH O!
While he was fighting Hercules was thinking of a way to defeat the monster so he tried to slice the monsters heads off but every time he did that another head would grow back.
Hercules had the idea to lay a torch next to each head that he sliced up.
Mmmmmmmm..........maybe light a torch on each of his heads.
After all of the torches were lit Hydra could not fight back and therefore died.
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!
After Hercules fulfilled all his labors the gods were pleased and forgave him. He was without a doubt Greece's greatest hero.
Hercules died from the poisonous blood of a centaur and went to Mount Olympus the home of the gods and he himself became a god.
Finally!
Later Hercules married a goddess named Hebe and they lived happily ever after.
I love you!
