Odessey is decided to leave Aeaea and go back to Ithaca. Circe, the goddess, is warning him of the Sirens voices and do not be persuaded.
4th Scene
Odyssey, advised by Circe, is told to fill their ears with beeswax so the crew won't hear the Sirens.
5th Scene
Odyssey saying he is going to have himself bound to the mast, instructing his sailors to tie him even tighter if he starts begging them to be unfastened or tries to break loose by himself. He wanted to hear the Sirens singing and see whats all the fuss is about
6th scene
The sailors are putting their beeswax in their ears as they wait for Odyssey to bound himself to the mast
The Sirens see the ship pass by and start singing, but the ship passes by and it is obvious they hav not been heard and they are furious and surprised
The Sirens are destined to die if a mortal shall live to hear them sing and pass on their story. As Odyssey passed them unharmed, them being upset by their defeat, they dragged themselves in the sea and never bothered anyone again.
