- Coraline and her family moved from Michigan. She is upset over this because she moves away from all her friends.
- We got you a gift so that you can stay here forever

- Coraline and her mom get into a fight because they are always too busy for her due to their work.
- Coraline discovers a different world where she gets a lot of love from her other mother and other father. There she gets fed home cooked meals and her parents take care of her.
- The following days, they offer her a gift. They tell her that they will give her button eyes so that she is part of their family for good.
- Realizing the other world is evil, Coraline tries to run away. She ends up outsmarting the other mother and gets out.
- Coraline and Wybie burry the hand that escaped from the other world so that it can never be let out again. The moral of the story is that people who have healthy relationships are more likely to feel happier and satisfied with their lives. They are less likely to have physical and mental health problems.
