"Just back up slow and quiet to the ladder and climb up to the loft....I'm watching him all the way, and I'll yank the ladder up after me." (Page 1)
Person vs Society
Amelia Sargeant? Mary Emerson? Huldah Stone? No? Well, you'll hear those names soon enough. Our crime has been to speak out for better working conditions." (Page 69)
Person vs. Person
It will do you good, if you take a walk!
"That's my book, ey?" (Page 90)
This is the scene where a bear broke into Lyddies family's cabin. Everyone quietly went up the ladder into the loft. The bear was wrecking things inside of their house. I think this is Person vs. Nature because this is showing a conflict between a bear (nature) and Lyddie + her family (Person.)
Diana and Lyddie were talking to each other and got introduced. Diana explained to Lyddie that she and a few others wanted to fight for better working conditions in the factory. I think this is Person vs. Society because this is showing a conflict between Diana and a few others (Person) and Society (the people who are making people work under bad working conditions)
Amelia spotted Lyddie and wanted her to come with her for a walk but Lyddie was not coming with her so she took her book away and started arguing with each other. I think this is Person vs. Person because Amelia (Person) and Lyddie (Person) are fighting and arguing with each other and are (going and going against each other.
